Greetings and a warm welcome to Ektara, the online video magazine of history, society and culture of India and South Asia. We hope our stories and interviews will entertain and inspire you, and arouse your appetite for more about our rich and diverse pasts. Ektara magazine comes out once every two months. 1. Khusrau Darya Prem Ka: A docu-drama on Amir Khusrau
A docu-drama about the life and times of Amir Khusrau, in today's Delhi, featuring Ankit Chadha, Rene Singh and others. Ankit, a budding dastaan-goi artist died recently in an accident. A film written and directed by Yousuf Saeed, produced for Aga Khan Trust for Culture, New Delhi.

2. Swami Vivekananda: Construction of ascetic masculinity through images
The positioning of Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) among the pantheon of male nationalist heroes reflects the gendered structure of the nation-state. Gaurav Kalra looks at some of the popular images of Vivekananda to explore this ascetic masculinity, in a visual essay at Tasveer Ghar.
