A very happy new year. In 2018, we begin the third year of Ektara, the online video magazine of history, society and culture of India and South Asia. We hope our stories and interviews will entertain and inspire you, and arouse your appetite for more about our rich and diverse pasts. Ektara magazine comes out once every two months. We need your support to keep it running.

Featured video: History of Science - Islamic and Early Medieval Science In a video about interpreting the Islamic manuscripts at the University of Oklahoma Libraries, Dr. Kerry Magruder, an Associate Professor in the Department of the History of Science talks about the understanding of medical sciences in Islamic history.
4. Society concerns: Campaign against traffic noise in India
In India’s towns and cities, the most common source of noise pollution is the honking of cars and motorcycles. For a healthy and progressive society, we need to curb factors that create much of this noise. One of them is the motorcycles whose 'silencer' has been removed to create extra thumping sound for a macho affect. Please join our campaign to curb this menace. >>
